A
New Weave of Power, People & Politics: The Action Guide
for Advocacy and Citizen Participation
The
product of many years of work with organizations around the
world, A New Weave of Power, People
& Politics takes a holistic
and innovative approach to citizen participation and advocacy.
It provides tools, analytical frameworks, concepts and a selection
of workshop and planning designs to help groups think and act
strategically in contexts of shifting power dynamics.
A New
Weave has
been translated into Russian and is currently being translated
into Spanish and Bahasa Indonesian. Click
here to read a recent review of the book by John Ruthrauff,
of Oxfam America.
Making
Change Happen: Advocacy and Citizen Participation
Product
of an intensive dialogue on the changing political context for
social change work among 50 activists, policy analysts, and
researchers from around the world.
JASS
also co-edited the spring edition of PLA-Notes (IIED, UK) on
advocacy and citizen participation with the Institute for Development
Studies (IDS). This special edition builds
on discussions at the Making
Change Happen
conference and highlights cases and
experiences of the symposium
participants.
Such approaches to advocacy and
citizen participation are
becoming increasingly important for civil society groups as
more attention is paid both to popular participation in decision
making and in holding those in power accountable.
PLA Notes provides a forum for practitioners
of participatory methodologies from around the world to share
their field experiences, conceptual reflections and methodological
innovations. To order a copy of PLA Notes 43: Advocacy and
Citizen Participation for USD$ 18, please visit www.earthprint.com.
If you are interested in bulk copies and rates, please contact
